The Honda PCX125 is a popular mid-range maxi scooter which often tops the sales charts and is powered by a Euro 4 compliant liquid cooled 125 cc single cylinder engine, producing 12.1 bhp at 8,500 rpm and maximum torque at 5,000 rpm. Owned a Honda Lead 100 for 4 years and done 10,750kms. Do all my own service. Very easy. Replaced tyres with Pirelli. Really easy to take off the wheels. Had two accidents and replaced all he panels myself. Great Scooter. No problems. Great for getting around town and park it anywhere. If you want to go fast buy a Harley. Grat Design. Reliable Or even a bike for those winding country roads you can't go that fast on anyway. Basicly it does what it claims to do very well. this Honda PCX 150 a smart choice I own a 2013 PCX 150 and while it's a nice starter bike it definitely has its caveats. While marketed as freeway capable it loses it's legs after 55 mph as the previous poster stated, and it's RPM limited to about 68 mph. Maintenance can be expensive. The manual calls for valve adjustments every 2,500 miles. You have a point with autos for sure. But my experience with Honda is that since the CH125/150, and the CH80, Honda has consistently run their bikes lean, and with lower compression to juice the MPG. That it has a positive effect of parts wear is a bonus. In the recent past, Americans have been buying most of these 150cc scooters, a fact that could be partially attributed to the increase in gas prices. With the right gearing, you should be able to get your 150cc scooter to go up to 70 mph and beyond. For instance, although the rpm of the Vespa Primavera 150 is limited to 61 mph, you can change Whist I've only done it a couple of times, I have commuted 43 miles each way. The PCX has had no problems, but it's a long time being on it for an hour and half. Main issue I've had is hold ups, and knowing I can't be late. I let someone else drain my coolant a few weeks ago at just over 2.5 years and only 9344km. He was a mechanic from a shop that does not sell a Honda, AFAIK. Anyways, after only getting a small amount of coolant in the Thus endeth the complaints, really. Four years ago, when we comparison-tested the PCX against Yamaha’s SMAX scoot, the Honda lost mainly because it was governed to a top speed of 63 mph indicated. For 2019, the Honda has thrown off its shackles, and accelerates, not exactly smartly but fast enough to put the hurt on most cars, to 69 mph. The Honda PCX 125 offers a significantly larger under-seat storage area compared to the Yamaha NMAX. Additionally, the PCX features two front cubby holes, while the NMAX has one.
